A list of neuropathologists who are departmental chairs

There is a disproportionate number of neuropathologists who are chairs of their departments. Some readers thought it would be interesting if a list of these chairs could be compiled. With the help of Mark Cohen, Bette Kleinschmidt-DeMasters, and Robert Mrak, a pretty comprehensive list has been assembled:

Douglas Anthony at Brown

Steven Carroll at Medical University of South Carolina

Robert Corona at SUNY Upstate

Jeffrey Golden at Brigham and Women's Hospital

Eyas Hattab at University of Louisville

Alex Judkins at Children's Hospital Los Angeles

David Louis at Massachusetts General Hospital

Jenny Libien at SUNY Downstate

Thomas Montine currently at University of Washington and soon to be at Stanford

Edwin Monuki at the University of California Irvine

Robert Mrak at the University of Toledo

Amyn Rojiani at Augusta University

Kevin Roth at Columbia

John Schweitzer at East Tennessee State University

Also of note:
William Hickey at Dartmouth (acting chair of pharmacology and toxicology, former pathology chair)

Hi Brian, I noticed you are missing Alex Judkins at Children's Hospital LA: http://www.chla.org/profile/alexander-r-judkins-md-fcap-frcp-edin

Hi Maria,
Thanks for your post. I went to the website you provided and it lists Dr. Judkins as vice-chair. But, he is listed as department head. I'm not sure what a "department head" is; but it must not be the same thing as a departmental chair. Any insights into this?
Thanks,
Brian

Alex Judkins is department head and pathologist-in-chief of Children's Hospital LA. He is also vice-chair of pathology for USC school of medicine. USC is affiliated with multiple hosptials including LA County + USC, Keck Hospital, Childrens' hospital, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hosptial, USC Norris Cancer Hosptial, and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital.

So an analogy here is that Harvard medical school is affiliated with multiple hospitals including Brigham and Women's, and Mass General. So this is how you have Jeff Golden as chair of Brigham and Women's, and David Louis chair of Mass General.

So Alex Judkins definitely counts!

Thanks for the explanation, Eddie. Dr. Judkins is now added to the list!
